Current Plans
The purpose of requiring States to create an SHSP is to identify safety needs and guide resources appropriately. This effort is made to achieve the goal of reducing highway fatalities and injuries on all public roads. The SHSP is intended to promote collaboration between all highway safety programs in the State so that problems can be addressed collectively.
